From Theoi.com:

IYNX was the nymph inventress of a magical love-charm known as the iynx -- a spinning wheel with a wryneck bird attached. Iynx used her enchantments to make Zeus fall in love with her or, some say, with the nymph Io. Hera was enraged and transformed her into a wryneck bird.

The English word "jinx" is derived from Iynx's name.

IYNX (Iunx), a daughter of Peitho and Pan, or of Echo. She endeavoured to charm Zeus, or make him, by magic means, fall in love with Io; in consequence of which Hera metamorphosed her into the bird called lynx (iynx torquilla). (Schol. ad Theocrit. ii. 17, ad Pind. Pyth. iv. 380, Nem. iv. 56; Tzetz. ad Lycoph. 310.) According to another story, she was a daughter of Pierus, and as she and her sisters had presumed to enter into a musical contest with the Muses, she was changed into the bird lynx. (Anton. lib. 9.) This bird, the symbol of passionate and restless love, was given by Aphrodite to Jason, who, by turning it round and pronouncing certain magic words, excited the love of Medeia. (Pind. Pyth. iv. 380, &c.; Tzetz. l. c.)

There is more to the story, when we read about the mystery... (read on)...

Do you want to know what the iunx (ιυνξ) is?
It's a drug to bring back someone who no longer desires you.
You mean you can drug someone into Desiring you? yes!
And they're doing it all the time.

Scholiast on Theocritus, Idyll 2 (Scholia in Theocritum, ad Idyllium II)

Aptly named, it is called seisopygis (“rump-shaker”) because it turns and bends everywhere [its neck or] its rump. Or [the name derives] from Iunx, whom Callimachus says (fragment 100°, 8 Schneider, Π 293) was the daughter of Echo, and who administered pharmaka to Zeus so that he might unite sexually with her. For this reason, she was transformed by Hera into a little bird, and [thereafter] assisted in the workings of pharmakeiai.

Who is the iunx?
Remember it's the bird. Stay with me... And
What is this iunx?
This iunx is also called seisopugis (σεισοπυγις). That is the quaking of the buttocks. Yeah. And
Why is this?
It's because...
...By the way, who am I reading to you? Who am I translating for you?
This is the "Scholiast on Theocritus, Idyll #2"
So this is one ancient Greek talking about another famous ancient Greek's work. Okay?
Scholiasts. They're commenting on the work.
And this commenter here says "what is the iunx?" because in "Theocritus the 2nd Idyll",
Which is about the witches and the sorcery.
He mentions the bird. The bird is Central, right?
What is the bird, here?
The bird is known to turn around and shake its booty!
They call her iunga (Ἴυγγα).
Kallimachos (Καλλιμαχος) told her about her. She's the daughter of Echo.
Wait what? She's the daughter of Echo, and what does she do?
Well, we know it was done to her.
Zeus drugged her, pharmakeuein de ton Dia (φαρμακεύειν δὲ τὸν Δία).
God drugged her. Why? So he might sleep with her.
When Hera found out, she turned her into a bird.
Why? So that she could work, power, of the Witchcraft.
Power of the drugs.
Isn't that gorgeous?

πυ_γ-ή , ῆς, ἡ, heterocl. acc.

II. = οὐρά, EM513.14.
#2 at the bottom. This is a standard word for buttocks in ancient greece.
How do we define a buttocks?
We define a buttocks by staring at Aphrodite's.
Isn't that interesting?
What do they call Aphrodite?
They call her Kallipiginous. That's her epithet. "She of the beautiful buttocks"
II. = οὐρά, EM513.14.
The oura is what Satan used to draw down 1/3rd of the angelic powers.
For those of you who are sitting on the throne of Satan, do you understand, for those with ears to hear?
That's what the oura (οὐρά) is.
How is the oura translated? What is that Oura? It's the Tail.
What else?
The god who left the Eua with the best looking being and a tree full of drugs, that god wasn't thinking. Bad planning, ok, Yahoo? If there's one thing I can say, bad planning. What is the oura that the serpent is so well known for using? His aidoion (αιδοιον).
You mean his tail is his aidoion? Yes.
Some of us listening tonight have aidoion, many of us have aidoia.
Those are our tails.
By which we who are the most beautiful, command the universe?
Who's kingdom is this? (Says Jesus... Tell me!)
Kingdom of the devil.
That is the oura.

The bacchic dance of intoxication that involves all the shouting.
To project the sperma.
That shouting, that vocalization, that injection into the world of that sperma.
We all know that the universe is born from seed.
We are farmers.
Our universe is cultivation.
You know where religion comes from? The drugs are only a part of it.
It comes from nature herself.

From Judean Apocalypse:

Now are you ready for a bewitching.
We're talking about the iunx right?
We're talking about what?
We're talking about that voice. The voice of the pipe. The shout. The screaming, the terror inducing screaming. and
the mind bewitching.
The Mind melding.
We don't have a word in English, as you can see, I'm struggling.
The mind bending power.
The mind bending power, that iunx is also... this poor thing is so mistreated, you know what I mean?
It becomes the voice
It becomes the voice
And what is it?
It's a form of a musical instrument with which the drug using ladies bring somebody to the point of sexual intercourse.
You know what I mean?
It is the iunx is Eros, you understand?
The bird, right?
The birrrrrrd that they used to create the music!
And who's the "they" here?
It's this "The Witches" again, the pharmakeides! right?
What is a witch?
You don't know what a witch is.
You don't know a witch is a potentiated woman!
Back to the Sythians, do you understand?
We're going to see them
We're going to see them tonight, and they're explaining all this, and the christing that's involved to bring somebody to this point
Oh, the woman's craft
It's fantastic, I love it!

From Christing Love:

This is her! what does she do?
She brings the iunx.
And what is the iunx?
It is the tool whereby Jason will reach out to the Queen herself, and will draw her.
He will draw her, isn't that romantic?
It's gorgeously romantic, isn't it?
And he's got to do everything right, he's got to do everything, and who's going to show him?
Who do you think is going to show him?
Who do you think showed Achilles when he was being raised in an all girls school?
Who do you think showed him, right?
It was Dedemea which everybody says is who? Medea.
Do you see what happens when you put things together?
You find a single image of a single woman behind the mystery.

Pindar, Pythian Ode 4.213–219 (fifth century BCE)
(describing Aphrodite teaching Jason the use of the iunx (ἴϋγξ) to influence Medea.)

The mistress of the sharpest arrows, the Cyprus-born one, brought from Olympus the variegated, four-spoked iunx, the maddening bird, having bound it to an inescapable wheel.

And she first taught to human beings prayers and incantations, instructing the wise son of Aeson [who is Iason/Jason],

so that he might take away Medea's reverence for her parents, and that longing for Hellas might drive her, burning in her mind, with the whip of Persuasion.

She brings the iunx.
Oh God, this is Kuprogeneia (Κυπρογένεια), right? (Cyprus-born)
What is she really doing?
She's bringing this Mainadi Ornin (μαινάδ ̓ ὄρνιν)
She's bringing this bird that is Maenadic, that is "in Mania" and she's bringing it first here to Jason and she is teaching him.
You're going to be surprised.
This is Aphrodite, right?
Because you know we talked about the wiccan movement before, that we talked about.
Yean, I know, some of you like Wiccan, right? All that kind of stuff.
I'm sorry, But it's got some major flaws, that are just, you know.
It's like you're drinking sewage, people.
That stuff is not pure.
You gotta have that stuff treated.
Your Wiccan well is full of pollution.
But before you get upset!!! Realize that, there is a classical well.
That witches just guard and love, and relish.
You're getting some of that well now.
And that well is coming from Aphrodite and what does it say? It says:
She teaches Iason, she teaches him the epodes.
What are those?
Those are magic songs that are used in rites.
And what else? Litas (λιτάς). She actually teaches him the liturgy of this stuff. She teaches how to do these rites. He's already been programmed by the centaur. He's already been educated, he's had his paidea (education). And now he's ready to get what he needs to go out there, and what is he going to do?
It says right here, he learns all this stuff in order to what?
In order to capture and hold Medea's respect for her parents.
Isn't that a cool way to put it?
Like: "I dont care about my parents anymore, it's all this dude" (!!)
Isn't that magic? That's crazy. She's a princess. She will be a Queen. They're already calling her a Queen, but technically, right now she's a princess at this point. This oracular point. And what happens? He does this all to capture her, and to make her want to be drawn (it says) to the Greeks.
To be drawn to the Greeks.
And it says he burns her with these whips of passion. Do you understand? It is Eros that runs the universe. It's Eros that runs the mystery.
So what does she do? Because you can't help when that iunx, that bird that conveys that voice, reaches out to you, there's nothing she can do.
What does Medea do?
She christs. She christs.
Do you know what she does to him? She christs him!
Here it says in this passage, this is probably the most important passage i've ever given to you.
So I want you to think: everything we've been through, all the stuff, chalk, all the stuff about putting the oil on first, so it can be a vehicle for the drugs, and then adding the drugs, in the face, with the burning purple, in the eyes.
All of that christing.
I'm about to show you the prime example of it that was around 1000 years before Jesus.
And what does it say?
She showed Jason how to overcome everything that her father had set in the way. And how did she do this?

Are you ready?
Here it is. Here's the school of Medea. This is how to succeed, Gents.
Are you ready?

Pindar, Pythian Ode 4.220–223 (462 BCE)

And swiftly she showed the limits of the ancestral contests; and, having prepared with oil pharmaka as antidote against severe pains, she gave them to him to christ himself with. And they agreed with one another to unite in a sweet, shared marriage.

With the oil that she puts on him,
She medicates him with a drug that is an antidote to pain.
She gives it to him to be christed.
Do you see the third line down? Second word (χρίεσθαι): "to be christed"!
None of the Christians will see this, none of them.
They never see this, they don't know about it.
They don't know that there's christing out there. They don't know!
Do you know what christing is? It's what she does to him, the Iason (Jason/Ἰάσων/Ἰήσων).
Do you know who Jesus Christ is? He is the Iason (Jesus/Ἰησοῦς)!
He is the Christ

notetaker:

The name Ἰάσων is also connected etymologically with ἰάομαι (iaomai, “to heal”) and ἴασις (iasis, “healing”).

  • That is particularly interesting alongside Medea's pharmaka and Jason's (Ἰάσων/Ἰήσων's) education by Chiron.
  • That is particularly interesting for Jesus the healer, as well, in the Acts of Bart Ch 5: Jesus says “Hey Bart. The Father called me ‘Christ’. In order that I may come to the Earth & christ (apply the salve to) any person coming to receive the Oil of life. He called me Jesus (Ἰησοῦν) so that I may heal (ἰάσωμαι).”

The two root words, which make Jesus and Christ, are originally Greek. Can we just swap alpha α for the heta η? YES! Why? Dialects!

Now you know why they call him, what they call him.
Do you understand?
This is the mystery, and
This is why Jesus says: "look, the queen of the South is there! The Sophia is wiser than Solomon!"
Do you realize what an insult that was to the people there?
Who believed the Traditions that came 100 years before that, out of this text, that was originally in Greek?
That was an offense!
It was a direct slap in the face to Yahoo, it was Jesus Christ reaching out to that oracular morning star.
And that's why (Jesus) he's wearing a bra in the apocalypse (Revelation of John).

Let's finish off with this, let's finish off I just want to show you,
This verb (φαρμακώσαισ / φαρμακόω) is what Medea's described as doing, right?
Medicating, you notice that it's also defined as being Bewitched, right? As well as poisoned, right?

φαρμα^κ-όω ,
A.medicate, φαρμακώσαισ᾽ ἀντίτομα ὀδυνᾶν having endued them with healing power against pains, Pi.P.4.221.
II. in Pass., to be poisoned, “μελίκρατον πεφαρμακωμένον” Plu.2.768d; of an arrow, Dsc.Eup.2.144 (v. l.).
2. to be bewitched, POxy.1477.20 (iii/iv A. D.).

I want you just to look at Roman numeral II, and I want you to notice that it is an arrow that we are talking about.
All of this magic, all of this drug work, goes back to the tension of the universe.
Heraclitus acknowledged this.
Remember Heraclitus is the one who's talking about the Sybil, right?
He says that tension of the bow and the Lyre, is what creates Kosmos, right? Kosmos. That's how we get Ouranos. If you want to open up Ouranos you have to understand the tension of the bow, the tension of the lyre. People said, despite the fact that her drugs were so overwhelmingly powerful on the human mind.
Despite that, it was her song that did everything.
It was her song that had the power.
Realize, these people and what they are doing, they are affecting it, through the language, and the music of that language. The tower of Babel is real.

χριεσθαι - there's your verb for christing. For all the Christians that didn't know that christing was comon in antiquity. Jesus wasn't special.

Pindar, Pythian Ode 4.233–234 (c. 462 BCE)

εἴχετ ̓ ἔργου: πῦρ δέ νιν οὐκ ἐόλει παμφαρμάκου ξείνας
ἐφετμαῖς.

He held himself to the task; but the fire did not destroy him, through the instructions of the all-pharmakon-skilled foreign woman [Medea].
How does she work, and who is she?
She's that one who will keep you from the fire. Why?
Remember your baptism of fire, it's meant to purge. And what will keep you in the process? It's her. This stranger who is pampharmakou (παμφαρμακου).
That's the only time this title is ever used of anybody.
Who is this woman?
Who is LadyBabylon?
She is queen all-drug.
Welcome to the Apocalypse.

Scholia in Aelii Aristidis Sophistar

From the Scholia in Aelii Aristidis sophistae orationes

"With an iunx": in the Munich apograph, the iunx is a bird that is always shaking its tail. It is said to be well suited to love matters and to be an agōgon, a thing that draws or attracts. So Theocritus: "Iunx, draw that man of mine to my house." Some say it is a particular kithara string, very tuneful. The bombycine Munich manuscript says: the iunx, the bird also called seisopygis ("rump-shaker"), is well suited to love matters.(Pg. 98)

What the commentator has to say in the footnotes.

On the word "iunx," see the commentators on Hesychius under that entry. This scholion agrees with Nicephorus on Synesius, p. 362 C, except that there: "others say the iunx is the most tuneful [string] of the kithara." Bekker's Anecdota, p. 265: "Iunx."

"Song and persuasion." From this it is clear that iunx signified the kithara, a string, and an incantation-song. The Theocritus passage is Idyll 2.47.

(Pg 508 n. 1)

The iunx that curses Medea is the Kithara, possibly the 7th string and also an incantation-song.

schol. Theoc. 2.17

iynx: a bird of Aphrodite, which witches keep as a helper in their magic. They put it on a wax wheel, fasten it on each side with a thong, and spinning it they whirl the little wheel over a fire, chanting whatever they want; and as it whirls round it slowly melts. And they add as the case may be: 'As this wheel melts, so may my lover melt.' They also call love itself iynx, after the creature set on the wheel, as Pindar says. [It is a bird,] as Aristotle says in his work On Animals, describing it as a little bigger than a chaffinch. Or it is called kinaidion, 'little catamite,' or, aptly, seisopygis, 'shake-rump,' because it twists and turns its rump in every direction. Or it is named after Iynx, whom Callimachus calls the daughter of Echo, and who bewitched Zeus so that he would sleep with her; for this Hera changed her into a little bird, and she now assists in witchcraft."
